Greetings

As Governor of the State of Illinois, I am pleased to welcome everyone gathered for the 2006 New Tang Dynasty Television Chinese New Year Global Gala.

Ringing in a new year is an opportunity to reflect back upon the previous year, and look toward the future with bright hope and optimism. It also gives us the opportunity to spend time with our family and friends and share in their laughter and joy. I am certain that each of you have many things that you are hoping to accomplish in the coming year, and I wish you the best of success in achieving all of your goals.

On behalf of the citizens of Illinois, I offer my best wishes to all for an enjoyable and memorable celebration, and a very happy and healthy new year.

Sincerely,
Rod R. Blagojevich

Dear Friends:

I hope that members of The Delaware Asian Cultural Center, the Asian community and friends across Delaware enjoy a safe and prosperous New Year. Tonight's Global Gala will be an enjoyable and meaningful celebration of Chinese heritage and cultural activates.

I am told that 2006 is the Year of the Dog, which represents the best in human nature-loyalty, honesty, trustworthiness and leadership. Those are wonderful characteristics to strive for and traits that are readily apparent in the Asian community and Delaware at large.

Once again, please enjoy tonight's celebration, have a happy New Year and continue the great work you are doing here in Delaware.

Sincerely,
John C. Carney, Jr.
Lieutenant Governor

Dear Friends:

Welcome to New England's first annual Chinese New Year Gala Performance.

This first annaul event provides an opportunity to celebrate Chinese heritage and to share that culture with people from across New England. It will feature high caliber music and dance, and I look forward to it quickly become a unifying event for all cultures in our region.

I want to thank the organizers and volunteers who have made this event possible. Once of the things that I love most about New England is its strong sense of community. The first annual Chiense New Year Gala epitomizes this spirit as people from across New England come together to celebrate Chinese culture.

Again, thank you for your invitation and congratulations on a successful event. I look forward to working with all of you to strengthen our state.

Sincerely,
John H. Lynch

What a special occasion this is as you come together to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year, the Year of the Dog. It is a wonderful time to reflect on the successes of the past and, with optimism, look toward the opportunities of the coming year.

Texas is strengthened by its diversity, and we are a state that embraces the contributions of all who have come from near and far to call Texas home. Our successes of tomorrow will be profoundly influenced by our continuous efforts to build cultural awareness and understanding. You help lead the way in that effort, and I salute you all.

Anita joins me in sending best wishes for an enjoyable celebration and a healthy and prosperous New Year.

Sincerely,

Rick Perry
Governor
